I think I can Do the Job, well probably maybe!

I think I can do the job, probably, maybe.

Are you going to apply for a job that you only Think you can do? If you were an employer would you employ someone who "thought" they "might" be able to do the job, or some one who believed that they were the perfect person for the job?

When we apply for a position we need to believe that we are the perfect person for that job. The employer wants the perfect person to fill his position.

Would we apply for a position that we could not do? Why would we do that, it would be a waste of our time and the money that it costs, it would be wasting the employers time, too.

So if we believe that we can do the job, we apply, do you apply just because maybe you would be OK. We need to believe that we are the best person for this job. We ARE the best person for the job – no maybe’s.

Our cover letter will have that conviction. Then when the employer looks at the cover letter he will see that we are the perfect person for the job.

The cover letter is the invitation to the employer to have a look at you. It is formulated to cover the advertisement. It is not a novel or a list of everything that you have done it is an answer to the advertisement, letting them know that you are the perfect candidate.

If he is asking for someone who is punctual, goal oriented and a good team player, then if these qualities describe you, tell him. If you tell him you are nice and happy and well organised is that what he is looking for? No it is not. So answer his question if you have these qualities or skills. Be very clear, they have asked for what they want very clearly, answer just as clearly.

Listed below are words that we can use to describe ourselves. Highlight every word that describes you:

Others that you feel suit you:
………………………… ………………………… …………
………………………… ………………………… ………………

So you can see that there are a lot of words that describe you, now pick the top 5.
1/……………………… 2/ ……………………… 3/ ……………………… 4/……………………… 5/…………………………

These are your words that best describe you, but as you can see there are a lot of words that also describe you. So when you are looking at the employment advertisements you will see if you fit into the position.

You can use these words to describe you in a lot if instances, maybe these are your strengths or maybe these are the qualities that you bring to a company or maybe they are how you will ad value to an organisation. Use these words with strength and conviction.
Apply for positions that you Believe you are the best person for.
Good Luck
